Who I Am

Healing is about more than reducing symptoms, it’s about creating meaningful, lasting change. Many of my clients come to therapy after previous counselling or years of personal growth, yet still find themselves repeating the same emotional, behavioural, or relationship patterns. They often understand why they struggle, but insight alone hasn’t created the transformation they were hoping for. To me, therapy is most effective when it bridges the gap between understanding and change. Many people don’t need more insight, they need a different experience. My role is to help clients align with what matters most, rewire unhelpful patterns, integrate new experiences, and create lasting shifts that extend far beyond the therapy room.

As both a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, I recognize the deep connection between emotional, physical, and relational well-being. My goal is to create a warm, compassionate, and collaborative space where clients feel genuinely understood while also feeling supported to move beyond what has been keeping them stuck. Having immigrated to Canada as a teenager, I understand what it means to adapt, rebuild, and find a sense of belonging. That experience continues to shape my empathy for clients navigating change, loss, identity, cultural adjustment, and major life transitions. At the heart of my work are the values of authenticity, curiosity, compassion, integrity, and lifelong learning. I believe everyone has the capacity to heal when provided with the right environment, evidence-based treatment, and a strong therapeutic relationship.

What I Focus On

I work primarily with adults and couples experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, trauma and PTSD, relationship challenges, burnout, perfectionism, low self-esteem, attachment wounds, emotional regulation difficulties, and major life transitions. While every person’s story is unique, these challenges often share common underlying patterns that influence how we think, feel, and relate to ourselves and others.
I have a special interest in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and therapy intensives. I particularly enjoy working with thoughtful, high-functioning adults and couples who have spent years reading books, listening to podcasts, or participating in therapy but continue to feel emotionally stuck. They are often insightful and motivated to change but need a different therapeutic approach to create meaningful, lasting transformation.

Alongside traditional weekly psychotherapy, I offer both weekly EMDR therapy and extended therapy intensives. Intensive sessions provide dedicated, uninterrupted time to process trauma, work through deeply rooted emotional patterns, strengthen healthier beliefs, and address significant life challenges in a concentrated format when clinically appropriate. Together, we’ll determine whether weekly therapy or an intensive approach is the best fit for your goals, preferences, and individual circumstances. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping people reconnect with themselves, strengthen their relationships, and build lives that feel more authentic, fulfilling, and aligned with their values.

My Background

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine with more than 14 years of healthcare experience. My background combines training in both physical and mental health, allowing me to appreciate the important relationship between the mind, body, and nervous system. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and have completed advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy, Discernment Counselling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment-informed therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
Throughout my career, I have supported individuals and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, chronic stress, burnout, and significant life transitions. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to lifelong learning and to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that reflects current research and best practices.

My Approach

No two people have the same story, so I don’t believe therapy should look the same for everyone. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. Together, we’ll explore the experiences, beliefs, attachment patterns, and nervous system responses that may be contributing to your current challenges while developing practical skills that support meaningful, lasting change. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all model, I thoughtfully tailor therapy to your unique goals, strengths, and stage of healing. Whether we work together through weekly psychotherapy or an intensive format, my goal is to help you understand the experiences that have shaped you, process experiences that continue to affect your present life, strengthen healthier patterns, and move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and purpose.

Healing isn’t about becoming someone different, it’s about reconnecting with who you already are beneath the pain and creating a life that feels more aligned with your values.

What I Hope for My Clients

I strive to create a therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe enough to be fully themselves. Whether someone is beginning therapy for the first time or returning after previous counselling, I want them to leave each session with greater self-understanding, renewed hope, and practical tools that continue to support them long after therapy ends. I also value collaborating with physicians, naturopathic doctors, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals whenever integrated care can best support a client’s overall well-being.

Outside the Therapy Room

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy staying active through strength training, hiking, and spending time in nature. I love travelling, exploring different cultures, discovering new restaurants, and experimenting with recipes inspired by different parts of the world. One of my favourite ways to unwind is sharing a home-cooked meal with close friends and loved ones.
I’m naturally curious and enjoy documentaries and films based on true stories, especially those exploring resilience, psychology, and human behaviour. Whether through books, travel, professional development, or everyday experiences, I’m always looking for opportunities to learn and gain new perspectives. I also enjoy volunteering and spending quality time with the people who matter most to me. Curiosity, connection, and lifelong learning are values that enrich both my personal life and my work as a therapist.

Something You Might Not Know About Me

Many people are surprised to learn that before becoming a psychotherapist, I competed in bodybuilding for nearly a decade. That experience taught me that lasting transformation isn’t built through perfection, it is built through consistency, patience, resilience, and showing up even when progress feels slow.

Those lessons continue to shape how I approach both life and therapy. Meaningful change rarely happens overnight, but with the right support, intentional effort, and a compassionate, evidence-based approach, lasting transformation is possible.
