Cedarvale Therapy Centre exists for two kinds of people: everyone looking for therapy that treats them as a whole person, close to home, and every credentialed therapist who deserves a full practice and a professional home. Everything we do serves one or the other, and usually both.
Our story
Cedarvale Therapy Centre did not start as a space company. It started as a therapy practice.
Founded in 2004 as Leaside Therapy Centre and led over the years by Annette Kussin and then Sheri Betel, it spent two decades delivering psychotherapy and learning firsthand what independent practitioners need to do their best work.
As therapists moved to hybrid practice, the old arrangement (a full annual lease for an office used a day or two a week) stopped making sense. So the practice rebuilt itself around the therapist. With the 2025 move to midtown and then the name change to Cedarvale Therapy Centre, it replaced leases with flexible, session-based rooms and added Community Connect, a membership that helps therapists grow.
The people who have run a working therapy practice for twenty years now run this one, so the care, the setting, and the way therapists practise here come from knowing the work firsthand, not from a rental company’s playbook.
Who practises here
Every therapist at Cedarvale Therapy Centre is independent: registered with a regulated college, running their own practice, keeping their own name over the door. The centre provides the setting and connects people seeking care with the therapists who fit; the care itself stays between you and your therapist, confidential within the limits set out by law.

To everyone seeking care
Honest information, nothing oversold.
We tell you what therapy is and what to expect, never what it guarantees. You won’t find testimonials or success stories here: advertising rules for regulated health professionals prohibit them, and we build trust on credentials and fit instead.
Credentials you can verify.
Every therapist here is an independent, registered member of a regulated college, shown exactly as their college grants it. You can check any registration against the college’s public register, and we’d encourage you to do so.
Your privacy, protected.
Your conversations with a therapist are confidential, within limits set out by law that your therapist explains at the start, and your personal information is handled under Canadian and Ontario health privacy laws. Enquiries to a therapist go to that therapist; the centre stays out of your care.
Parents and young people, both respected.
For teens and children, consent and confidentiality are explained plainly to parent and child both, before anything begins, as the law sets out. Safety concerns are shared as agreed between you and your therapist.

Fees stated plainly, no referral needed, and, with most therapists here, a free 15-minute phone consultation on request before you book. In person, close to home.
