Privacy policy
How Cedarvale Therapy Centre collects, uses and protects personal information through this website. Effective September 21, 2026.
Who we are
Cedarvale Therapy Centre is a therapy centre at Suite 401, 801 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto. Independent registered therapists practise here, and the centre provides the rooms, this website and the Community Connect membership.
This policy covers personal information collected through cedarvaletherapy.ca, including the enquiry forms, the therapist directory, and the Community Connect and room booking accounts. It does not cover the care you receive from a therapist; see your therapist and your health information below.
The short version
- We collect what you choose to send us, and what we need to run room bookings and member accounts.
- An enquiry to a therapist goes to that therapist. The centre keeps a copy so the enquiry is delivered and counted.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
- Please do not send health details through the website.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
Information you give us
Contact and tour requests. Your name, email address, phone number and message.
Enquiries to an independent therapist. The same details, sent to the therapist you chose. The centre keeps a record of the enquiry so that it can be delivered, so the therapist can see it and mark its status in their Community Connect account, and so the centre can count enquiries across the directory.
Community Connect and room booking accounts. Your name, email address, username and password (stored in scrambled form, never readable by anyone, including the centre), the room bookings you request and any notes you add, and, if you have one, your room agreement. Therapists who are members can also record the status of the enquiries sent to them.
Information collected automatically
When you send a form, we record the page it was sent from and your IP address, to prevent spam and misuse. Like any website, our web host keeps server logs of visits for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies. The website sets cookies only when you log in to Community Connect, to keep you signed in, plus a small test cookie on the login page. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
Browser storage. In Community Connect, checklist ticks are saved in your own browser so they are still there next time. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.
Fonts. The website uses the Lato typeface from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for the font file, and Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
Please do not send health information through the website
The forms on this website are for getting in touch, not for clinical information. A short note about what you are looking for is enough. Your therapist will talk with you about anything more, in a setting built for it.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, or to send it to the therapist you chose.
- To arrange tours, room bookings and memberships, and to keep records of them.
- To run Community Connect, including showing each member the enquiries sent to them.
- To keep the website secure and working.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not send marketing email unless you have agreed to receive it.
Who we share it with
- The therapist you contact. Your enquiry goes to them.
- Service providers who run the website for us: our web host, the service that delivers our email, and Google Fonts. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- When the law requires it.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to the laws of that country.
Your therapist and your health information
The therapists at Cedarvale Therapy Centre are independent, regulated professionals. Each one is responsible for their own clinical records and for the privacy of the health information you share with them, under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the rules of their regulatory college. The centre does not keep clinical records.
Questions about your therapy records go to your therapist.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires, and then delete it securely. Member and booking records are kept while an account is active and for as long afterward as our accounting and legal obligations require.
How we protect it
The website uses an encrypted connection. Access to enquiries and accounts is limited to the people who need it: a member sees only the enquiries sent to them, and room agreements can be opened only by the member they belong to and by centre staff. Passwords are stored in scrambled form. No website is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if a breach affects your information, as the law requires.
Your choices and your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can withdraw your consent to our using it, subject to any legal requirement to keep it. Members can also close their account.
Contact us using the details below. We will reply within 30 days.
Children and teens
This website is for adults. An enquiry about therapy for a child or teen should come from a parent or guardian.
Other websites
This website links to other websites, such as regulatory colleges, research sources and social media. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave this site.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
